My Own Ideas
Many years ago as a teenager, I was on my own pondering about the world and why so many horrible things were going on, why people behaved so badly to each other etc. I had the idea that what we needed was one "universal government" (but not the New World Order) who would be responsible for organising:
Housing Programmes Food & Water Programmes Family Programmes Health Programmes Environmental Programmes
and I wanted to be part of this work, then life took over and I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses believing Christ would head this government. Now as I look back and again ponder over these things, I have learnt that there are so many "programmes", governments, groups, United Nations, UNICEF and many other groups of people working to deal with these problems without much success. We've been living under these programmes for too long so that wasn't such a good idea after all.
I have also learnt that everyone (without exception) likes to believe that they are "right" and judge others according to their own viewpoint. To quote from Neal Donald Walsch's book "Conversations With God", he quotes God as saying, 'there is no right or wrong, there just is...'
I have also been learning about Universal Laws and certainly don't claim to be an "expert " but one of the laws I have been thinking about recently is the Law of Opposites (or Polarity). As I write this, I have looked at the different viewpoints as to the Law of Opposites and the many explanations and Imay never see a perfect world where everything is just "good", because it is the very fact of having things "bad" sometimes helps us to become better as people.
It is the "bad" things in the world that give us reasons to strive for a better world in the first place, to want to relieve the hardships and wrongs that cause people to suffer - for without these things we would just live a very selfish and mundane life. Therefore, this Law of Opposites/Polarity is as essental to our wellbeing as the Law of Attraction and the many other Universal Laws.
Let me give you some examples.... every single one of us has our own ideas of what "paradise" or even "heaven" means to us. To some, having large amounts of money, a luxurious home, car, jewellery etc. would be "paradise/heaven", others would be happy having a loving family even if they lived in one room. Some would be happy living in a small house, the idea of having to look after a mansion would be "hell" - the housework, needing servants etc! I hope you are with me so far. Some are happy living on their own, others need to live with someone and so on...
However, what every single human, young or old, needs the following to live (let me know if I have missed anything):
- Fresh water
- Fresh food
- Shelter (whether this is one room or several)
- Good Health
- Clothing
- A form of currency
- Skills
- Education
- Some form of transport
- Love of self and others
- A belief in knowing they can be the wonderful person they were meant to be
I think that believing in a God or Higher Power etc. is a very personal thing and shouldn't be imposed on anyone. What we do need though is to change is how we think, how we deal with each other, how we deal with the problems we face in our daily lives and if a religious belief encourages us to do this then that could be considered a good thing.
I've learnt that we should understand that we have everything we need inside of us and, therefore, not become too hooked on expecting someone else to heal or save us.
We need to consider whether our daily challenges bring out the best in ourselves or perhaps the worst? When mankind decides to change how we interact with each other then we will really see a difference in the world. We are just getting glimpses now of what could be but I think enormous changes will happen very quickly and soon. All over the world, people are getting fed up with the old way of living with mean-spirited and self-serving individuals ruling over them.
Many are already living life in their paradise or heaven, others have yet to achieve this, although they feel that may have done so in a spiritual sense, but not necessarily in a physical way. I'm keeping an open mind and observing. For me, I want to live as if I am already in my "paradise/heaven". Every day I intend to do my best and be the best I can be - how about you?
